Vitamin B Complex + Vitamin B6
Can you take Vitamin B Complex and Vitamin B6 together?
NoteStrong evidence
Yes, but add up the B6 from both — long-term excess damages nerves.
What to do. Keep total daily B6 from all products at or below ~25 mg unless prescribed.
Dose matters. At ≥50 mg/day of B6 on top of a B-complex, the neuropathy risk is meaningful — reduce the dose.
Mechanism
Double-counting B6
Most B-complex products already contain 10–100 mg of B6. Peripheral neuropathy has been reported with chronic intakes well below the 100 mg US upper limit.
Evidence: Strong evidence — Randomized trials or authoritative reviews (e.g. NIH ODS).
