Ginkgo + Nattokinase
Can you take Ginkgo and Nattokinase together?
CautionMechanism-based
Be cautious — both can affect clotting, and together the effect may add up.
What to do. Avoid the combination if you take a blood thinner, bruise easily or have surgery coming up. Otherwise watch for unusual bruising or bleeding.
Mechanism
Stacking two bleeding-prone supplements
Nattokinase breaks down fibrin, and ginkgo may add to the effect of blood thinners. A brain bleed has been reported with nattokinase plus aspirin.
Evidence: Mechanism-based — Plausible biological mechanism with little direct human outcome data.
