L-Arginine + L-Citrulline
Can you take L-Arginine and L-Citrulline together?
SynergyStrong evidence
Yes — combining them lowered blood pressure more than citrulline alone in trials.
What to do. Fine to combine. If you take blood-pressure medication, watch for dizziness.
Mechanism
Citrulline + arginine for nitric oxide
Citrulline is converted into arginine, sustaining blood arginine levels for nitric oxide production. In a meta-analysis, the combination lowered blood pressure more (about 10/5 mmHg) than citrulline or watermelon alone.
Evidence: Strong evidence — Randomized trials, meta-analyses or clinical guidance that directly support this specific claim.
